Membership is renewed annually on the 1 April. Membership taken out in January, February or March of any year will run through to the end of the subsequent year. The subscription is reviewed annually by the committee and reflects the cost of running the club which includes, but is not limited to, the following: affiliations, insurance, compulsory training, and required disbursements costs. All club officials are volunteers who do not receive remuneration.
Membership Classes and Subscription Levels
The membership classes and subscription levels for the year 2020 – 2021 are:
|Adult membership.||Individuals aged 18 or over at the date of joining.||£25|
|Junior membership.||Individuals under the age of 18 at the date of joining.||£12.50|
|Family membership.||Up to two adults and two juniors resident at the same address.||£60|
To apply to become a member you have to fill our membership form for committee approval (Membership form).
Please note you have to apply to become a member once you have been to three events run by the Club, it is a requirement of our insurance.
It will be helpful for you to print and fill out the form before you come down because flat dry surfaces and pens that work are normally scarce on Club meets. Please note a new membership form is required to be completed every year.
There are no free club events each event has a fee which is required before the events’ attendance. Club events are organised and communicated internally via email.
It is important that the email address you provide on the membership form is checked regularly because we advertise all our events through email. We have a Facebook Group that our members can become a member of. We also allow parents of junior members to join. Peer group events are advertised there and reminders about club events that have been advertised via email are also commonly seen.

Do I need to be a member of British Canoeing?
No, you do not need to become a member of British Canoeing (BC) to join our club. The club pays a small surcharge per non-BC member for liability insurance within the affiliation fee to BC. Click the link for information regarding the benefits of BC membership.
Do I need to fill out a membership form every year?
Yes, you do need to fill out a membership form every club year even if you are only renewing your membership. The club year starts on the 1st April.
